1. Best Recumbent Bike Regardless of Price
Sole Fitness LCR Light Commercial Recumbent Bike Review
The Sole Fitness LCR Light Commercial is a true market leader, and priced accordingly. It's a commercial grade bike, with robust design that's capable of handling the most difficult environments and well equipped for heavy duty use.
One of it's best features is the vivid 9-inch display which enables users to view all the important workout statistics on-screen. Also featuring an amazing 40 separate levels of resistance that provide enough variation for all fitness levels and workout goals.
To help provide the perfect workout environment Sole Fitness includes a sophisticated sound system to help take your mind of the workout burn!
While all these features are great, you're probably wondering why we've rated this model as the best. The Sole Fitness LCR requires no external power source and is entirely powered by you while riding it. As the owner this translates into remarkable savings on electricity costs and also means you don’t have to worry about the bike being unavailable if you don't have a power source. This really is the feature that sets it apart from the rest of the bikes available on the market.
In able to provide the robust design the bike’s frame is supported by reinforced steel and aluminum. While this adds to the weight, and rules it out as a portable bike, – the front wheels make it easy to move around your home without lifting.
As the Sole Fitness LCR name suggests, the display screen is superb, and packs enough features to make the price worth it.

Diamondback Fitness 910Sr Review
Diamondback's 910SR recumbent bike is another recumbent bike that justifies its high-end price by incorporating some unique features that sets it apart from the competition.
It's wireless heart rate monitor works via an adjustable chest strap which sends data to the bikes display screen so you can see your current heart rate while you ride.
Low-end models determine your heart rate by measuring your pulse through sensors in the handle bars. Seeing recumbent bikes don’t require that you hold onto the bars at all times, the Diamondback's chest strap monitor is perfect for buyers who want total control of their heart monitoring.
The wireless heart rate receiver removes this inconvenience of needing to hold the handles at all times – while also retaining all the enjoyable music and body-cooling features.
Also included in the media playback system is a 30-pin connector which enables Apple iPhones and iPad devices to connect into its full featured media center.
Some other nice features are the mesh-backed seat, which makes the 910SR very comfortable and the ventilation stops any nasty smells from forming. It also has more resistance levels and workout programs than almost any model on the market – 32 and 35 respectively.

Exerpeutic 900XL Extended Capacity Bike Review
What we like: One of the biggest benefits of exercise bikes, especially the recumbent type, is that they significantly reduce the amount of stress on your joints, and the 900XL is no exception. It features sturdy construction with eight levels of magnetic resistance, so there’s sure to be just the perfect level for any type of rider.
We found the seat and back rest to both be very comfortable, and had no problem adjusting tensions to increase the challenge during a workout. It’s quiet enough that you can use it while you watch television, so you’ll always be entertained while you are getting your exercise.
When done, the cycle features well-constructed transportation wheels, making getting it out and putting away in between workouts simple and fast.
What we don’t like: While we’re big fans of the bike, there were a few things which we did not like and felt you should know. For one thing, the bike is only recommended for riders between the heights of 5’6” to 6’3”.
In our experience, however, riders as short as 5’3” were still able to use the bicycle without any major discomfort or problems working the controls. If you or the person you are purchasing the cycle for is shorter than that, however, you may want to look at other recumbent bikes.
The 900XL also takes a bit of time to put together, though that’s not unusual for a bike in this category. We did find that the instructions were very straightforward and easy to follow, so we feel anyone should be able to put the bike together without problem.
4. Best Folding Recumbent Bike
If you’re living in a house overflowing with stuff or just a small apartment, then we found that the Exerpeutic 400XL Folding Recumbent Bike is the best choice.
What we like: Size matters! While it may not have all the bells and whistles of many of the other bikes we've reviewed here on List Fitness, if space is a premium in your household this is the best recumbent stationary bike for you.
After working up a sweat with the 400XL’s eight levels of magnetic resistance, you can easily fold up the bike to about half its full size. When folded, the cycle is not much bigger than your average kitchen table’s chairs.
Riders of all sizes and shapes should be able to take advantage of the numerous recumbent exercise bike benefits with the 400XL. Despite the folding recumbent bike’s small storage size, it’s still capable of supporting riders of almost all types. It lists a recommended height of between 5’2” and 6’2” with a supported weight maximum of 300lbs. Most fuller figured riders should fit without much problem with an ample 21 inches of space between the bike’s handles.
What we don’t like: During testing we found the pulse reading to be a bit inaccurate. Some of the materials used on the bike also seem to be a bit low-quality.
The good news is that the areas we had issues with are not central to the bike’s function. The most glaring area was with how the 400XL’s display is attached to the bike. It seems like it would break off easily, so we’d recommend handling it with care during use and while taking it out and putting it into its folded position.

Nautilus R614 Recumbent Bike Review
If you’re looking for an exercise bike to burn calories, then look no further than the Nautilus R614 Recumbent Bike.
What we like: You’ll never get tired of your recumbent bike workout with the R614. It features 22 different programs with 20 different levels of difficulty to choose from. Hopping on and going for a ride takes no time at all, with two different user profiles available. This way there’s no switching back and forth every time you want to ride if you have other people who will be using the bike in your household.
A USB port is included allowing you to easily record and upload your workouts to popular fitness sites Nautilusconnect.com or MyFitnessPal.com. Two separate LCD screens allow you to keep track of whatever information is most important to you (calories, distance, speed, etc.) without having to mess with complicated menus while you’re in the middle of your workout.
A padded seat with lumbar back support and an adjustable fan keep you cool and comfortable throughout your ride. In-console speakers and an MP3 player dock will keep you entertained as well.
What we don’t like: We really had to search for negative things to say about this recumbent bike, but there is one relatively minor thing that should be noted.
The cycle is on the larger side, and does not fold, so if you are short on space this may not be the bike for you. We find the size to be an acceptable trade-off given the huge number of features and high comfort level the Nautilus offers, however.
Whatever your decision, you can’t go wrong with any of these stationary exercise bikes! Enjoy, and happy riding!
